I understand why my mother is worried about my future major.I've seen my mother struggle to raise me on her small salary and work long hours. She leaves the house around 6:30 am and usually comes home around 5 pm or even 6 pm.However,I want her to know that by becoming a doctor,it doesn't mean I'll be successful.I'd rather follow my dreams and create my own future.

Time with friends influences other responsibilities. If your teen ignores his responsibilities because he’s spending too much time with friends or chatting with them on social media, he needs help in managing his time. It shouldn’t get in the way of doing homework, finishing things, or taking care of other responsibilities. 【2】 Provide enough guidance until he’s better able to refuse invitations from friends.
【3】 Don’t stop your teen from having any contact with his friends. However, that is likely to cause bad results. Your teen may simply think he can’t hang out with his friends because you won’t let him — not because he recognizes they’re bad. Create rules that will help your teen make healthy choices. Make it clear that there will be results for misbehavior.
Your teen is breaking the rules. Spending time with friends is a special right. 【4】 Don’t give him unlimited access (接触的机会) to his friends if he’s not earning that special right.
Your teen is hardly at home. 【5】 If your teen wants to spend the night at friends’ homes more often than usual, set some limits to make sure that he’s spending time with family.

28、 Recently, my dad and I decided to take a day trip to the Florida Keys, a coral cay archipelago located off the southernmost coast of the US. I was super excited because I had not been able to go anywhere within the past nine months because of COVID-19.
With masks and hand sanitizer, we began our fun journey before sunrise. The Keys are about two hours away from where I live in Florida, so we would get there early to see the sun coming up over the ocean. On the road, we got to enjoy the Gulf of Mexico on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other.
When we stopped by Curry Hammock State Park, I was really amazed. The park contains 1,000 acres of land, which protects mangroves, rock land and seagrass beds that are important to the ecosyst(生态系统) in the Keys. During our time there, we were able to see some hawks flying by, and they followed the Gulf coastline of the Caribbean, migrating(迁徒)from Canada and as far south as Peru. These hawks put their wings out, “floated” up in the wide sky and then glided for long distances. After flying for thousands of miles, they still kept their fast flight patterns.
After that, we went to Key West and visited some iconic(标志性的) stops, like Duvall Street and Mile Marker 0. It was really cool because it is the very beginning of US 1, which is the longest road that runs from Key West to the Canadian border.
It was an amazing trip to the Florida Keys, and it was thrilling to have a change of scenery.
【1】What made the writer unable to go anywhere in a long period?
A.Bad weather B.Poor health C.An epidemic disease D.Economic conditions
【2】Which word best describes the author’s attitude after seeing the iconic stops?
A.Calm B.Proud C.Bored D.Annoyed
【3】What is the text mainly about?
A.An amazing trip. B.Migration of hawks C.The scenery of a park D.Protection of the ecosystem
29、Recently American researchers suggested people on Wednesday to take more vitamin D to lower risk of cancer, saying studies showed a clear link. “Our suggestion is for people to increase their intake , through diet or a vitamin supplement,” Dr. Cedric Garland said in a telephone interview.
Garland's research team reviewed 63 studies, including several large long-term ones, on the relationship between vitamin D and certain types of cancer worldwide between 1966 and 2004. “There's nothing that has this ability to prevent cancer,” he said, urging governments and public health officials to do more to fortify (增强) foods with vitamin D. Garland is part of a University of California at San Diego Moores Cancer Center team that published its findings this week online in the American Journal of Public Health. Vitamin D is found in milk, as well as in some fortified orange juice, yogurt and cheeses, usually at around 100 international units(IU)a serving. “People might want to consider a vitamin supplement to raise their intake to 1000 IUs per day” Garland said, adding that it was well within the safety guidelines established by the National Academy of Sciences.
The authors said that taking more vitamin D could be particularly important for people living in northern areas, which receive less vitamin D from sunshine.
“African Americans, who don't produce as much of the vitamin because of their skin colour, could also benefit significantly from a higher intake,” the authors said.
