二、阅读理解 (共4题,共 20分)
  • 26、   It is sometimes jokingly said that you may skip a meal a day without any adverse effect but skip using your WeChat for an hour and you will feel distinctly unwell. It is an acknowledgement of the fact that the app is no longer only a fun tool but an essential part of life for millions.

Launched in January 2011, this messaging, social media and mobile payment app today has more than 1 billion individual users. People use it for everything, from applying for a business license to booking a hospital appointment to keeping up with family and friends, shopping and paying bills—activities that are part and parcel of our everyday life.

When it was first introduced, WeChat was only an app supporting voice, video, picture and text messages between two persons or among a group. But today it has become ubiquitous.

In the past, people carried their wallet and keys with them wherever they went; today, a smart phone with WeChat installed is all they need in daily life. Its functions like Moments and mini programs and the official WeChat accounts of government agencies and companies have made communication and public services accessible and convenient like never before.

WeChat is also widely used by enterprises. Figures from Tencent show there are around 15 million WeChat official accounts, which enjoy 5 billion followers. Most businesses use their WeChat groups as a standard marketing kit. This has immensely reduced advertising, marketing and communication costs, and in the background of the novel coronavirus disease, made operations faster, contactless and safe.

However, there are concerns about the downsides of WeChat, such as addiction among primary school children. Equally serious is the misuse of WeChat for fraud or instigating crimes. However, it has to be kept in mind that these fallouts are not really the fault of WeChat, but due to the misuse of the app.

If we learn to temper our use of messaging apps with prudence and pragmatism, we could be looking forward to yet new conveniences and experience in this decade with the rapid development of 5G technology and artificial intelligence. Ultimately, the choice is ours, whether to use WeChat or any other new invention, wisely or wantonly.

【1】We can conclude from the first paragraph that ___________.

A.we can easily skip a meal a day.

B.we will be ill by not using WeChat.

C.WeChat used to be meant for fun.

D.WeChat has become inseparable in daily life.

A.WeChat has a mobile payment function.

B.The agencies provide better service through WeChat.

C.Mini programs are convenient for the agencies.

D.People do not have to carry keys and cash with them.

【4】What benefits does WeChat bring to the businesses?

    A.It has brought more followers.

    B.It has become a standard.

C.It has helped to cut down the costs.

D.It has made the businesses healthier.

【5】What is to be remembered when we look at the downsides of WeChat?

    A.WeChat should be held responsibly.

B.WeChat should be banned among primary school children.

C.The improper use of the app leads to many problems.

D.The 5G technology will bring new conveniences and experience.

  • 27、Doctors are known to be terrible pilots. They don't listen because they already know it all. I was lucky:  became a pilot in 1970, almost ten years before I graduated from medical school. I didn't realize then, but becoming a pilot makes me a better surgeon. I loved flying. As I flew bigger, faster planes, and in worse weather, I learned about crew resource management (机组资源管理), or CRM, a new idea to make flying safer. It means that crew members should listen and speak up for a good result, regardless of positions.

I first read about CRM in 1980. Not long after that, an attending doctor and I were flying in bad weather. The controller had us turn too late to get our landing ready. The attending doctor was flying; I was safety pilot .He was so busy because of the bad turn, he had forgotten to put the landing gear (起落架) down. He was a better pilot - and my boss - so it felt unusual to speak up. But I had to: Our lives were in danger. I put aside my uneasiness and said, "We need to put the landing gear down now!" That was my first real lesson in the power of CRM, and I've used it in the operating room ever since.

CRM requires that the pilot/surgeon encourage others to speak up. It further requires that when opinions are from the opposite, the doctor doesn't overreact, which might prevent fellow doctors from voicing opinions again. So when I'm in the operating room, I ask for ideas and help from others. Sometimes they're not willing to speak up. But I hope that if I continue to encourage them , someday someone will keep me from “landing gear up”.

1What does the author say about doctors in general?

    A. They like flying by themselves.

    B. They are unwilling to take advice.

    C. They pretend to be good pilots.

    D. They are quick learners of CRM.

2The author deepened his understanding of the power of CRM when_______.

    A. he saved the plane by speaking up

    B. he was in charge of a flying task

    C. his boss landed the plane too late

    D. his boss operated on a patient

3In the last paragraph”landing gear up” probably means ______.

    A. following flying requirements.

    B. overreacting to different opinions.

    C. listening to what fellow doctors say

    D. making a mistake that may cost lives

4Which of the following can be the best title for the text?

    A. CRM:A New Way to Make Flying Safe

    B. Flying Makes Me a Better Doctor

    C. The Making of a Good Pilot

    D. A Pilot-Turned Doctor

  • 28、In our daily lives, we probably make silly mistakes. While these moments can be worrying, they can also be handled with humor. When we share a laugh at our mistakes, we can calm ourselves down with a thread of understanding and acceptance.

When one morning in a rush to school, I spilled (泼洒) my cup of orange juice. I immediately thought of the precious minutes I would have to spend in cleaning up the floor. I raced back and forth to the sink (洗碗槽)with a kitchen cloth soaked (浸透)with juice to wash off. My legs were shaking as I watched from my window the school bus coming to my street. Within a minute, I had thrown the orange juice-soaked cloth to the sink and ran outside to join the group of kids in entering the bus. When thinking about my morning rush to clean up the spilled juice on the bus, I realized how much unnecessary stress and worry I put myself through. I ended up smiling to myself about my minor nervousness over spilled juice.

These days I don’t usually spill orange juice, but I do sometimes spill a bit of spaghetti sauce on my pant or put on my sweater backwards when I’m really tired and in a hurry for school. In each of my mistakes, I try to remind myself not to take myself so seriously. It takes me a minute to calm down, take a deep breath and smile at my carelessness. It is the ability to see mistakes in a different way that enables me to find humor in everyday moments.

Humor, however, doesn’t always have to arise from silly mistakes. Kids may have a good laugh at comic books, classic jokes and stories told by friends and parents. What matters more is not where you find the humor in life, but that you can appreciate it.

【1】When we make mistakes in our daily lives, we ________.

    A.should treat them properly

    B.may try to enjoy ourselves

C.must know the value of them

D.had better forget them in time

【2】What did the author do before going to school in Paragraph2?

    A.He prepared breakfast busily.

    B.He had some clothes washed.

C.He made a cup of orange juice.

D.He did some cleaning at home.

【3】We can learn from Paragraph 3 that the author____________.

A.makes many mistakes now the then

B.tries to keep himself calm with humor

C.has been used to being busy every day

D.always makes other people around happy

【4】What does the author intend to tell us?

A.We should try to find where humor lies.

B.We can be happy by enjoying humor.

C.It is natural for us to make mistakes.

D.Reading is a good habit for every person.

  • 29、Getting your children to stop lying is challenging. There are many influences (TV, movies, video games and some great books) in which lies are common. Children see parents lie to others, if only to be polite. Most parents add to that with tales about the lives and activities of Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy, or to relieve fears. (“This will not hurt!”) Parents do this out of love, but for some children, lying can become a problem.

The most common reactions to children who lie are explaining why it is wrong and punishment. As ways of changing behavior, these are ineffective. Here are three better tools supported by research to use instead.

PRAISE: You could ask your child to say something that happened at school that is true. It is not critical what that is. This is about practice. When your child does so, praise him enthusiastically. Be specific: “That was great! You told me what happened just like I asked. Wow!” and give your child a hug or a high five. If your child says something true in the course of her day, praise that behavior too. Aim for one or two interactions like this a day. If you happen to “catch” your child in a lie, be matter-of-fact in your disapproval. Say something like, “That is not true and could get you in trouble outside of the home; it is better to say the truth.”

MODEL: Tell the truth. This could be about something that happened when you were a child or something that happened during the day. It need not be dramatic. Another option is to play a game at dinner. Each person tells one thing that was true that day. Again, give a little praise to the child who normally lies if she plays along.

DE-EMPHASIZE PUNISHMENT AND MORALIZING: They are unlikely to change behavior or develop the conduct you want. That does not mean ignoring, lying or letting it go. Rather, use very light punishment (light criticism, a brief time-out). More severe, harsh or enduring punishments (shouting, taking away something for a week, hitting) are not more effective in actually changing the frequency of lying.

Try these procedures for two or three weeks and see where you are. Usually they can be dropped by then. It is unlikely that lying will be completely eliminated, but with the right encouragement, it can be dramatically lessened.

【1】According to the passage, why is it a challenge to get kids not to lie?

A.They have problems telling truth from lies.

B.They are not criticized properly for lying.

C.They are much exposed to lies in life.

D.They tend to tell lies by nature.

【2】According to the passage, what are parents recommended to do?

A.Pretend not to have seen your kids lie even if they lie.

B.Praise your kids if they tell fewer lies in a day.

C.Play a game of making up stories at dinner.

D.Punish kids for lying in a mild way.

【3】What is the passage mainly about?

A.Reasons why it’s difficult to stop lying.

B.Tools with which to find out if your kids lie.

C.Proper ways to prevent tour kids telling lies.

D.Procedures of giving your kids encouragement.

五、书面表达 (共1题,共 5分)
  • 32、阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。

    My Own Beat

My pulse quickened as my feet took me closer and closer to the door. In my head, I could hear the words my kids kept telling me, “Do it, Mom. You never do anything for yourself. Just follow your dream.” I felt my lungs filled with air and released it.

“What are you doing here? You’re a single mom of five. You’re fifty years old!” My thoughts were fighting with my kids’ words. Even so, it was as if I had no control over my feet. As if they were being urged along from somewhere deep inside me.

Finally I gathered my courage, stepped into the hall and signed up for drum classes, which was my childhood dream.

Wednesday came, and along with it my first drum lesson. I walked through the door and headed directly to the seating area in the back. My hands kept fidgeting (动来动去) with the sticks. I kept nervously looking at the time. I tried to slow down my breath. I knew the teacher would say I was not the right type of person to play the drums. I turned around to see an older man looking at me.

“Stephanie? I’m Mike, the drum teacher,” he said.

People make me nervous. That’s the way I’ve always been. But Mike had a very calm manner about him, so I relaxed just slightly. Not only did he not tell me that I was the wrong type of person to play the drums, but he complimented me on how well I held the sticks and followed along with him.

“You are fine. I see so much potential in you,” he told me.

Soon my thirty-minute lesson is over. Walking back to my car, I felt full of excitement and energy. I thought of how many times I had driven my kids to their competitions and watched proudly as they bravely went in front of judges and audiences.

Now it felt scary and amazing at the same time to follow my dream and do something that was purely for my enjoyment, something just for me. Maybe one day I would have the chance to stand on the stage.

    注意:

    1.续写词数应为150左右;
