1、I think it is important for children to learn how to do chores and help their parents with housework. It is not enough to just get good grades at school. 61Children these days depend on their parents too much. They are always asking, 62“你能给我拿一下这个吗?”or “Could you help me with that?” Doing chores helps to develop children’s independence and teaches them how to look after themselves. 63It also helps them to understand the idea of fairness. Since they live in one house with their parents, they should know that everyone should do their part in keeping it clean and tidy. Our neighbors’son got into a good college but during his first year,64他不知道怎样照顾自己.As a result, he often fell ill and his grades dropped.65.The earlier kids learn to be independent, the better it is for their future.

24、 We have recently heard some interesting ways that 5G technology might change our lives in the future. 5G promises internet speeds between 50 to 100 times faster than the present 4G systems. The technology is also built to deal with many more users without slowing services down. Such improvements are sure to be popular for 5G users worldwide.
While 5G is set to start in some limited areas of the United States this year, much of the rest of the world is not expected to receive such service widely until 2023.
One project called 5G Rural First in Britain, though, is already testing this superfast technology, but not on humans. Instead, the experiment involves an unlikely group of internet users-cows. The system connects the animals to 5G in an effort to automate(自动化)the milking process.
Testing areas are set up at farms in three countries of England. The cows are fitted with 5G devices(装置)that connect to a robotic milking system. The system uses sensors(传感器)and machine learning to fully automate the process. System designers say technology takes over after a cow feels ready to be milked and walks toward an automatic gate. The device is designed to recognize each cow. It then sets machine to the right height for milking. During the process, machines give food to the cow in return.
In one of the test areas, about 50 of the farm's 180 cows are fitted with 5G smart devices and health-watching sensors. Project officials say the devices do not harm the cows and the sensors allow farmers to immediately discover any problems such as health problems.
Other technology tools powering the 5G smart farms include automated brushes that turn on when the cow touches them. Sensors also control the supply of light in the cows' living areas depending on the weather. And an automatic feeding system makes sure the animals always get enough to eat.
Nick Chrissos works on the project. He said the system can connect every cow, and every other animal on the whole farm. “That's what 5G can do for farming—really free the power that we have within this farm, everywhere around the United Kingdom, and everywhere around the world.”
【1】What's Paragraph 4 mainly about?
A.How the system automates the milking process.
B.How the technology knows when to milk cows.
C.How the designers connect 5G devices to cows.
D.How the testing areas were set up in the countries.
【2】According to the passage, 5G smart farms _________.
A.effect huge changes on the animals
B.improve the cow operations in many ways
C.make the internet speed slow down greatly
D.test the technology on both cows and people
【3】What's Nick Chrissos' attitude towards the 5G technology?
A.Worried. B.Hopeful. C.Surprised. D.Doubtful.
25、Can you imagine a world without the Internet? It’s surprising to think about it.
Now, China has more than 162 million Internet users, according to the China Internet Network Information Centre. This is the second highest number of user in the world after the United States. Today, 66% of Chinese “netizens(网民)”are teenagers. “They spend about thirteen hours every week online,” said Qian Hulin, an Internet expert(专家). Doctor Song in Beijing Xuanwu Hospital said about 14% of Chinese netizens who are teenagers often lasted over ten hours to play online games.
The main reasons why teenagers surf the Web are to search for information, to communicate with others and to have fun. On the Internet, teenagers can find out almost anything. And surfing the Web can help students with their homework and widen their knowledge.
Li Dong, a teacher in NO. 41 Middle School in Shijiazhuang, likes her students to use the Internet. “When we talk in class, students who surf the Net usually know more background information than the others,” she said.
In addition, people can use the Internet to write letters or stories and send emails. Many teenagers〖JP〗 keep in touch with their friends online. It is cheaper than phoning somebody far away and also much quicker.

26、 When I asked my daughter which item she would keep: the phone, the car, the cooker, the computer, the TV, or her boyfriend, she said “the phone”. Personally, I could do without the phone, which makes me unusual. Anyway, the telephone is changing our lives more than any other piece of technology.
Point 1
The telephone creates the need to communicate, in the same way that more roads create more traffic. My daughter comes home from school at 4:00 pm and then spends an hour on the phone talking to her classmates or friends at school. If the phone didn’t appear, would she have anything to talk about?
Point 2
The mobile phone means that we are never alone. “The mobile saved my life.” says a woman who once had an accident in her car. Trapped inside, she managed to call the ambulance (救护车) to save her.
Point 3
The mobile takes away our private time. It allows the marketing manager of any company to ring his sales staff all round the world at any time of day to ask where they are, where they are going, and how their last meeting went.
Point 4
The telephone separates us. Antonella Bramante in Rome says. “We worked in separate offices but I could see him through the window. It was easy to get his number. We were so near — but we didn’t meet for the first two weeks!”
Point 5
The telephone allows us to reach out beyond(超越) our own lives. Today we can talk to several strangers at the same time on chat lines (At least my daughter does. I wouldn’t know what to talk about). Actually, we can talk across the world. And, with the phone, we can also surf the Internet.
【1】What does point 1 try to tell us?
A.People communicate less because of the creating of the telephone.
B.People communicate more since telephone has been created.
C.People communicate more because of more traffic.
【2】Which points show that telephones have improved people’s life?
a. Point 1. b. Point 2. c. Point 3. d. Point 4. e. Point 5.
A.b, c

C.Mobile phones help people deal with the things that happen suddenly.
【5】What’s the best title for this passage?
A.Phone Power
B.How to Use Phones
C.Advantages of Phones
27、Mickey Mouse’s ears are well known all over the world, and this year will be an especially fun one for Disney. The company is celebrating 60 years since its first theme park, Disneyland, opened in California, US in 1955.
Disney has opened many more parks all over the world since it made history in California. Shanghai Disneyland is expected to open in 2016, bringing Disney’s popular parks here to the Chinese mainland for the first time.
So why has Disneyland been so popular for 60 years? Well, it’s described as “the Happiest Place on Earth” and “a place for the young and young at heart”. Many Americans have grown up with the parks, as ex—Disneyland president Paul Pressler said in 1995: “There is an emotional relationship that people have with this park.”
Disneyland was one of the first theme parks anywhere in the world that had “lands” and rides with themes. Disney’s storytelling in rides like roller coasters(过山车) is a big reason for their parks’ success. “We tell a story in everything we do,” Pressler said. Disney rides such as The seven Dwarves Mine Train and Peter Pan’s Flight come from its movies. One ride from its 2013 hit movie Frozen will surely be coming soon, perhaps at the new Shanghai Disneyland.
Disney’s parks haven’t always been popular everywhere, however. When Disneyland Paris opened in 1992, some French people felt that American culture was invading(入侵)France. But still, the park stayed open and today it is a popular place for European visitors.
Whatever you may think of them, you can’t say that on their 60th birthday, Disney’s parks aren’t still going strong. How many Disney theme parks will you have visited by the time their 70th birthday comes around?
