Making films can no longer be completed only by adults. A group of primary school students in Southwest China’s Guizhou Province recently proved it. 1. The 90-minute film was made by some fourth and fifth graders. Combining science fiction, family education, school life, drug control and comedy, they made the film in a creative and interesting way.
According to the 9-year-old director Chenyan Zhirou, she began creating the story during her winter vacation in 2018, and finished writing it before this summer vacation. 2. She then began choosing actors and having interviews for the film. After further preparation, her camera started rolling.
From the early stages of costurme preparation and makeup to later directing and camera shooting, all processes were arranged in perfect order. 3. 整个过程中,每个小学生都尽全力在做。
4.学生们花了五周的时间制作这部电影. It included two weeks of shooting and three weeks of post-production, during which time every shot and every piece of music was carefully selected and designed.
5.There were many technical problems that they could not solve on their own, but they didn’t ask adults for help. They believed it could only be considered their own film without any adults’ help.
As for why they made this film, the students said they hoped to let more teachers and parents see what younger generations can do.

24、A Chinese company recently used big printers to build 10 full-sized houses. The one-story houses now standing in the Shanghai Hi-Tech Industrial Park, look like usual buildings. But they were “printed out” in less than a day commonly known as 3-D printing technology. Four huge printers 32 meters long, 10 meters wide and 6.6 meters tall were used to make the houses.
“Unlike traditional construction(建筑), the new technology doesn’t produce any waste,” said Ma, an engineer in the construction industry for 12 years. “The houses can pass just about any safety test. People can live and work inside them without any problems.”
He says he is pleased and satisfied about what he has done and hopes it can be used in more types of construction work. “Over the past years, a large number of tall buildings have been built all over the country. One of the problems is pollution, which can harm the environment and people’s health,” Ma said. 26、 What do you think of black cats? Are they unluckier than cats of other colors? Many people in Western countries think so. Scientists at the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley), did a study on cat colours and people’s understandings of cat personalities.
The study found that people do judge (判断) cat personalities by color. Scientists did a survey on the Internet. There were 49 statements (描述) matching five cat colorings with 10 personalities. People think orange and bi-coloured (双色的) cats are friendly, tri-coloured (三色的) cats are not generous, and white cats are calm, lazy and shy. As for black cats, people think they don’t have special personalities.
But why do so many people dislike keeping black cats as pets? People think black cats have less special personalities, which might be because of their bad reputation (口碑). They think black cats may bring bad luck, especially at Halloween. Movies and television shows also make people believe that.
Although people have these ideas, UC Berkeley scientists give another reason: people don’t think black cats are pretty enough. After all, nothing can show black cats are unluckier than other cats. “You can’t judge a cat by its colour, because it’s the personality of the cat, not the colour, that will let you know if the cat is right for you,” Cathy Marden, a scientist said.
