24、John is the kind of guy you love to hate. He is always in a good mood and always has something positive (积极的) to say.
If a friend was having a bad day, John was always telling the friend how to look on the positive side of the situation. Seeing this really made me curious (好奇的), so one day I went up and asked him, “You can’t be a positive person all the time. How do you do it?” He replied, “Each morning I wake up and say to myself, I choose to be in a good mood.” Soon, I left to start my own business. We lost touch, but I often thought about him when I made a choice about life.
Several years later, I heard that he had a serious accident, falling off a high tower. I saw him about six months after the accident. I asked him what had gone through his mind as the accident took place.
“The first thing that went through my mind was my daughter,” he replied.
“Weren’t you scared?” I asked.
He continued, “The nurses were great. ________ But seeing the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I was a dead man. I knew I needed to take action. I told them, ‘I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead.’”
He lived, thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude. I learned from him that every day we have the choice to live fully.

25、Creating new masks through new ideas is nothing new, because of the COVID-19 that took over the world. Almost everyday, a new design comes along with a different creator. A new function is added or developed to make people breathe more easily or make the mask better. However, it’s all about wearing a mask this time—a mimicking and smiling mask created by a video game designer.
It is named JabberMask as the designer Tyler called it. “I made this mask several months ago after seeing many people making cool face masks.” the designer explained. “I wanted to one-up them and make the coolest mask possible, using skills that are unique to me, and so I came up with this face mask that you can make smile.” he continued.
The JabberMask basically tries to mimic what the user says through a voice control system. What’s more, you may make it smile and show off a couple of basic emojis, which is the fun part. Besides, it is powered by a battery at the back of the head. Let’s not forget to mention that the mask can be washed.
Tyler most likely gets this passion from designing his own games.
