26、 People tend to accept groups standards of behavior and thinking in a group work. Many illustrations(例证) could be given of this from everyday life, but what is of particular interest to psychologists is how much people’s judgments and opinions can be changed as a result of group pressure. Asch and others noticed that people in a group will agree to statements that are contrary to the evidence of their senses. It would be a mistake to think that only particular changeable people are chosen to take part in experiments of this type. Usually highly intelligent and independent people are used.
In a typical experiment, this is what may happen. The experimenter asks for volunteers to join a group which is investigating visual sense. The participants are not, therefore, aware of the real purpose of the experiment. Each volunteer is taken to a room where he finds a group of about seven people who are cooperating with the experimenter. The group is shown a standard card which contains a single line. They are then asked to look at a second card. This has three lines on it. One is obviously longer than the line on the first card. One is shorter and one the same length. They have to say which line on the second card is the same length as the line on the standard card. The other members of the group answer first but what the volunteer does not know is that they have been told to pick one of the wrong lines. When his turn comes he is faced with the consistent opinion of the rest of the group—all the others have chosen line A but he quite clearly sees line B as correct.
What will he do? According to Asch, more than half of the victims chosen will change their opinion. What is equally surprising is that, when interviewed about their answers, most explained that they know the group choice was incorrect but that they yield to the pressure of the group because they thought they must be suffering from an optical illusion(视觉假象), or because they were afraid of being different.
【1】The psychologists are especially interested in __________.
A. the evidence of the experiment. B. the changes in the attitudes of people.
C. the difference in people’s behavior D. the degree of changes of people’s opinions
【2】Why more than half of the victims changes their opinions in the experiment?
A. Because they had been told about the answer
B. Because thought the group choice was correct.
C. Because they submitted to the group pressure
D. Because their eyes were suffering from illusion.
【3】The purpose of the author in writing this passage is to _________.
A. illustrate the influence of group pressure on individuals
B. encourage people to act against any groups opinion
C. invite more volunteers to join in Asch's experiment
D. tell the readers how to perform psychological experiment
27、The far side of the moon is a strange and wild region, quite different from the familiar and mostly smooth face we see nightly from our planet. Soon this rough space will have even stranger features: it will be crowded with radio telescopes.
Astronomers are planning to make the moon's distant side our newest and best window on the cosmic(宇宙的) dark ages, a mysterious era hiding early marks of stars and galaxies. Our universe was not always filled with stars. About 380,000 years after the big bang, the universe cooled, and the first atoms of hydrogen formed. Gigantic hydrogen clouds soon filled the universe. But for a few hundred million years, everything remained dark, without stars. Then came the cosmic dawn: the first stars flickered, galaxies came into existence and slowly the universe's largescale structure took shape.
The seeds of this structure must have been present in the darkage hydrogen clouds, but the era has been impossible to probe using optical(光学的) telescopes—there was no light. And although this hydrogen produced longwavelength(or lowfrequency) radio emissions, radio telescopes on Earth have found it nearly impossible to detect them. Our atmosphere either blocks or disturbs these faint signals; those that get through are drowned out by humanity's radio noise.
Scientists have dreamed for decades of studying the cosmic dark ages from the moon's far side. Now multiple space agencies plan lunar missions carrying radiowavedetecting instruments—some within the next three years—and astronomers' dreams are set to become reality.
“If I were to design an ideal place to do lowfrequency radio astronomy, I would have to build the moon,” says astrophysicist Jack Burns of the University of Colorado Boulder. “We are just now finally getting to the place where we're actually going to be putting these telescopes down on the moon in the next few years.”
【1】What's the purpose of building radio telescopes on the moon?
A.To research the big bang.
B.To discover unknown stars.
C.To study the cosmic dark ages.
D.To observe the far side of the moon.
【2】What does the underlined word “probe” in Paragraph 3 possibly mean?
A.Explore.

A.there was no light in the dark ages
B.they cannot possibly get through our atmosphere
C.gigantic hydrogen clouds no longer fill the universe
D.radio signals on Earth cause too much interference
【4】What can we infer from the underlined sentence in the last paragraph?
A.Scientists have to rebuild the moon.
B.We will finally get to the moon's distant side.
C.The moon is a perfect place to set up radio telescopes.
D.A favorable research environment will be found on the moon.

Over the past few years, there has been a big increase in the number of people sharing information online. In this article we will learn about some positive factors for people to share information online.
We often share information with our friends in the office or at home to educate, entertain or pleasantly surprise them. In this way we can connect with others. This is also true while sharing information online. If you look at the Facebook wall posts of your friends, you will realize that most of their updates are usually famous quotes, entertaining videos, inspirational images, funny jokes, etc. 94% of those who responded to a survey by the New York Times said they put a lot of thought into how the content they are sharing will be beneficial to others.
A lot of people share information online to represent their true self to the outside world. Some people, especially those who are shy and not comfortable talking about their areas of interest in the presence of others, find it extremely convenient to share that information online with like-minded individuals.
78% of the respondents in the study of The New York Times said they shared information online because it helps them develop better relationships. Today, a lot of people do not have the time to meet each other in person and the Internet has become a great substitute. A lot of people now “meet” each other online, rather than in conventional places like restaurants and pubs.
Lastly, when we share our thoughts online, we are actively engaging with the vast community of people who are a part of the World Wide Web. Sharing information will make a difference to the viewpoint of others, or add to their understanding about the world.
