21、Wendo Musaly was born in Congo (DRC) on November 21, 1996. Two months after he was born, the situation in Congo went into a state of war causing unrest across the country. To keep their children, Wendo and his elder sister, safe, Wendo’s parents decided to flee to Tanzania, where they had to live in refugee (难民) camps, dependent on others for the basic necessities of life.
At 11, Wendo and his friends formed a music group. Guitars and drums were the only instruments they had to practice their music. After some time, they gained confidence in themselves and began performing in the street and even at parties. This was when Wendo realized that he had a talent in him.
After Wendo was hit with the realization that he was great with music, he began taking it more seriously. In 2016, when his family finally moved to the States, Wendo could see a future for himself. Although late, his parents got him and his sister in a high school to complete their studies in 2016. Wendo went to Winooski High School and completed his high school studies in 2020. All this time, he did not abandon his passion for music. Instead, he tried his hand at songwriting.
Musaly got his first break in August 2018 when he cooperated with Mr. Oli on a song named Pourquoi. He started working on various projects and made tons of works produced by working with others. Wendo then released a song, Give Me That Eh, featuring Mr. Oli & Q-Boi and Tú’úndané featuring Lumiere. He also worked on some singles, including Kiboko WE and Je T’Aime.

23、Dealing with judgment from other people can be tough.【1】But you can cope with their criticism using positivity and sympathy. The tips below will show you the best ways to respond when someone judges you.
【2】
Try not to take any judgmental words personally. Remember that a judgmental person’s words are a reflection of their own beliefs — and not yours Remind yourself of all the things you do well, and keep a list of your best traits and achievements to boost your confidence.
Be sympathetic.
【3】It could be that they were judged themselves by parents, family, or friends, in which case this person’s critical attitude would be something they learned. While that doesn’t excuse their behavior, having compassion can inform your response. Say things like “I’m not sure I agree, but I understand your position and I’ll take time to think it over. Thank you for sharing.”
Ask for clarification.
Judgmental people may not know they’re being rude or unreasonable. Ask this person to explain what they said, and find out their motivation for saying it.【4】Before you interpret this person’s words a certain way, make sure you know their true meaning and why they felt the need to judge you.
Calm down and respond rationally (理性地).
Being judged is never fun, and it’s natural for you to feel hurt and emotional right after it happens.【5】Getting defensive or judgmental in return is unlikely to help them see the error of their ways, and more likely to start a fight. 24、Integrity is the quality of being honest and strong about what you believe to be right. The concept of integrity has played a key role in moral philosophy throughout history and is promoted in all societies because of its importance to social relations. Individual integrity is vital to society, one that enables people to make use of their capacity for critical reflection, does not force people to take up particular roles and does not encourage individuals to betray each other. Besides, societies can be favorable to the development of individual integrity.
Individual integrity can lift up the spirits of the entire society. It can shape the lives of people living in a particular society, the lives of all fellow people and, in its broadest sense, even the destiny of a nation. By contrast, if those living in the society are corrupt, it could have bad effects, jeopardizing the healthy morality of the society.
On the other hand, a society can be favorable to the development of individual integrity. Society expects and requires integrity. A society consisting of people of integrity, and people who never compromise on their principles, could have a positive mark on the personal development on its members. Being a part of such a morally lively community could serve as a basis for absorbing traits of good character. This could be of a distinct advantage to any individuals in the society.
Nonetheless, some social structures are of the wrong sort for some individuals to pursue integrity. If that is the case, we have to ask questions about the moral nature of society first before raising questions about individual integrity. Questions about integrity may turn out to be about what kind of society it is, rather than about the relationship between individual interests and characteristics of a society. The pursuit of adequate individual integrity often depends, not so much on understanding who one is and what one believes and is committed to, but rather understanding what one’s society is and imagining what it could be.
Under no circumstances can we underestimate the importance of human integrity in a society. People, who are honest, trustworthy, compassionate and caring, are the factors decisive in the growth of individuals as well as the development of a society.
【1】Individual integrity has been valued in society because ______.
A.it helps develop philosophy
B.it is crucial to social relations
C.it is the basis of critical thinking
D.it ensures people’s particular roles
【2】The underlined word “jeopardizing” in Paragraph 2 probably means “______”.

A.Individual integrity relies on what one has faith in.

C.The nature of society is decided by economic development.
D.Social structures guide the formation of individual integrity.
