The ancient people firmly believed that “food is the most important thing for the people”. Some reports show that the annual waste of grain in China is close to 6% of the total grain output, of which, the waste rate of a large party is as high as 38%. The food waste is driven by people’s flamboyant nature-they think the plates must be full and taking away packed food from a party is “disgraceful”. The dishes at a dinner party have become a symbol of a person’s wealth and having too many dishes at the menu has become fashionable, thus promoting waste.
Small to a person, a family, big to a country, the whole human race, to survive, to develop, we have to be frugal. Being frugal does not mean being mean, it simply means one is wise enough not to waste food. If the culture of diligence and frugality is more widespread in all countries, it would provide for a stronger foundation for national security and family happiness.

Until earlier this year, I didn’t know anything about the Alexander technique—and saw no reason to think I should. One day, the backache I regularly suffered was more painful. I was brought up to think that the preferred way of dealing with aches is to do nothing and hope they’ll go away, but I eventually went to the doctor. After examining me, he said, “You actually have bad posture (姿势). Go off and learn the Alexander technique.” Three months later I could walk straighter and sit better.
The Alexander technique is a way of learning how you can get rid of harmful tension in your body. The teaching focuses on the neck, head and back. It trains you to use your body less severely and carry out the movements that we do all the time with less effort. There is little effort in the lessons themselves, which sets apart the Alexander technique from yoga or pilates, which are exercise-based. A typical lesson involves standing in front of a chair and learning to sit and stand with minimum effort. You spend some time lying on a bench with your knees bent to straighten the spine (脊椎) and relax your body while the teacher moves your arms and legs to train you to move them correctly.
The technique helps to break the bad habits accumulated over years. Try folding your arms the opposite way to normal. This is an example of a habit the body has formed which can be hard to break. Many of us carry our heads too far back. The head weighs four to six kilos, so any inappropriate posture can cause problems for the body. The technique teaches you to let go of the muscles holding the head back, allowing it to go back to its natural place on the top of our spines.
So who was Alexander and how did he come up with the technique? Frederick Alexander, an Australian actor born in 1869, found in his youth that he had vocal (声音的) problems during performances. He analyzed himself and realized his posture was bad. He worked on improving it, with excellent results. He brought his technique to London and opened a teacher-training school, which is still successful today.
So if you’re walking along the road one day with shoulders bent forward, feeling weighed down by your troubles, give a thought to the Alexander technique. It will help you walk tall again.

24、 The world's first hydrogen-powered superyacht (超级游艇)could be taken to the waters in the not too distant future. Dutch yacht-design company Sinot has launched a model for a wonderful concept that seems to develop the superyacht industry in a more eco-friendly direction.
Created in cooperation with Lateral Naval Architects, Aqua measures 112 meters and will be powered entirely by liquid hydrogen and fuel-cell technology, which essentially means water will be its only emission. The superyacht, which has state-of-the-art facilities, is to operate at a top speed of 17 knots (节), with a range of 3, 750 nautical miles.
"For the development of Aqua, we combine inspiration from the lifestyle of a forward- looking owner and cutting-edge technology in the 112-meter superyacht, "Designer Sander Si-not said in a statement shortly before a detailed model of Aqua was revealed at the Monaco Yacht Show in September. He added, "Our challenge is to use fully operational liquid hydrogen and fuel cells in a true superyacht that is not only groundbreaking in technology, but also in aesthetics (美感)｡"
Aqua's technology system will rely on two 28-ton vacuum isolated tanks. The energy will then be submitted to the switchboard and distributed, in order to provide power for travelling and hotel services.
The outside and inside design for Aqua, which took developers five months to design, was almost as impressive as its technology system. Aqua will have a yoga space, a swimming platform and a beach deck close to the waterline.
While it's just a design concept at the moment and there are no exact plans to roll Aqua out, according to Sinot, the pioneering design clearly prefigures the superyachts of tomorrow.
