21、 A friend and I once got lost on the top of Glyder Fawr, a mountain in North Wales. It was snowing and we couldn’t see more than two meters in front of us. Luckily we met some more experienced walkers. We followed them and returned safely. Meeting other walkers on quite a cold January day wasn’t really so surprising, because walking is the UK’s most popular sport.
Many people believe that the popular walking brought about 20 special long paths(小路) for walking in Britain. The longest is the Southwest Coast path(1014km). The most exciting one is the West Highland Way in Scotland because it passes through mountain areas. It ends at the bottom of Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain.
There are also a few basic rules(规则) you should follow when you are walking on the paths. Don’t drop litter, keep your dogs around you if there are farm animals in the area, and always stay on the path.
Remember that British weather can change very quickly, especially in the north and west of the country. If you are in Wales, Scotland or the north of England, you would need to carry enough food and water with you. It is also important to wear warm and thick clothes. Carry a map and compass so that you won’t get lost. These paths are the best way to enjoy Britain’s wonderful countryside.

22、A great family party is a fantastic way to have fun with those you love. But most family parties fail (失败) because they aren’t planned enough or over planned. So, what can you do to make your family party a great success?
Enough food is necessary to have a great party; however, you need to think about your guests. If you plan to have kids join the party, make sure you prepare some kid-friendly food.
Prepare some snacks. People like to have snacks such as cakes, cookies and popcorn after the meal. Put a table outside with snacks on it.
Start talking. Along with the table for snacks, set one up with photos on it. This can be a fantastic way to start conversations and tell some “remember when” stories.
Have some fun games. You can plan group games that will make people talk to each other. This is important if you have guests who don’t know each other well. Some fun outdoor group games are volleyball, tennis and badminton.

23、
Long-distance(距离)bicycle camping is one of the most pleasant activities I have ever experienced. I usually sleep poorly at night, but in the woods on a tour I sleep like a baby, falling asleep with the music of insects. In the morning I am waken by birds. I eat a snack before getting up and I pack my sleeping bag, air mattress(垫), tent and other things and then get on with my ride. I ride more slowly in the morning, then I can stop anywhere, such as grasslands, lakes, woods and scenic spots(景点). I can enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Near lunch I find a small grocery and buy some bread, sandwiches and fruit. Then I will find a town park or other places to wait out the mid-day sun. In the afternoon, I ride more quickly and spend less time on spots. In the late afternoon I started riding more slowly and thinking about where to stop. I finally find a place in the early evening, cook a simple meal and have a rest. As it starts to get dark, I put up my tent and fall asleep.
There are exciting times and difficult times as well. Visiting strange or famous places are always exciting to me. Along the way, I meet and talk with interesting people, sometimes other travelling cyclists. Enjoying beautiful views, meeting wild animals and travelling up and down hills also stir me up. On the other hand, I may run into a rainy or hot day, I have to repair my bike or just find myself in a bad mood(心情). But the problems are easy to deal with(处理). I’ll never forget my pleasures.
