21、 Healthy eating doesn’t just mean what you eat, but how you eat. Here is some advice on healthy eating.
Eat with others. It can help you to know others’ healthy eating habits. If you usually eat with your parents, you will find that the food you eat is more delicious. Listen to your body. Ask yourself if you are really hungry. Have a glass of water to see if you are thirsty—sometimes you are just thirsty, you need no food. Stop eating before you feel full.
Eat breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Since you don’t eat for the past ten hours of sleeping, your body needs food to get energy. You will be smarter after eating breakfast.
Eat healthy snacks like fruits or cheese. We all need snacks sometimes. In fact, it’s a good idea to eat two healthy snacks between your three meals. This doesn’t mean that you can eat a bag of chips instead of a meal.
Don’t eat dinner late. Because of the busy life, we always put off eating dinner until the last minute. Try to eat dinner at least 3 hours before you go to bed. This will give your body a chance to digest most of the food before you rest for the next 8 to 10 hours.

For many people in North America, the last week was the coldest of the year. To help some poor people keep warm, some kind people tied(系) scarves to trees in big cities for people in need.
“I AM NOT LOST!” read a note on a scarf tied to a tree in Wilmington, “If you need this to stay warm, please take it. It is yours. Be warm, and do something to help someone else today if you can.”
The member of a teenage soccer team put many of the scarves around Wilmington. They bought around 300 scarves for poor persons and left them on the Bloomsday runner statues(雕塑) in Riverfront Park with notes like the one above.
A group of villagers also left their scarves all over the cities. “The scarves get right to the people who want them,” said Wendy Grahl, one of the villagers, “If you’re poor and it’s 30 below, a scarf is going to be welcome.”
“I’ve seen a lot of bad things happen, but I’ve seen a lot of good people that care for others,” said Ed, a homeless man who took one of the team’s scarves.

23、 If you do not use your arms or your legs for some time, they will become weak. When you start using them again, they slowly become strong again. Everybody knows that. Yet many people do not seem to know that memory(记忆) works in the same way.
When someone says that he has a good memory, he really means that he keeps his memory in practice by using it. When someone else says that his memory is poor, he really means that he does not give it enough chance to become strong.
If a friend says that his arms and legs are weak, we know that it is his own fault(过错). But if he tells us that he has a poor memory, many of us think that his parents may be blamed(责备), and few of us know that it is just his own fault. Have you ever found that some people can't read or write but usually they have better memories? This is because they cannot read or write them down in a small notebook and they have to remember things. They have to remember days, names, songs and stories, so their memory is the whole time being exercised.
So if you want to have a good memory, learn from the people: practise remembering things in a way as other people do.
