22、I watched the film Better Days (少年的你) with a sad feeling several days ago. The film deepened my understanding of school bullying (欺凌). I used to think school bullying was far from us, but that is not true. Many teenagers suffer from school bullying. The reason why we don’t know about their suffering is that many of them don’t dare to speak out about their experiences. Some do speak out, but no one around them is willing to help them go through their terrible days. The effect of school bullying on the victim can last a lifetime. It’s time we did something about this problem.
First of all, I think we need stricter school rules. Many boys and girls bully others because the school rules hardly solve bullying incidents (事件).
Second, it is important for teachers and parents to discover the incidents in time. As students, we should report school bullying incidents to our teachers or parents as soon as possible.
Last but not least, we should try our best to prevent (阻止) school bullying from happening. Perhaps schools can pay more attention to students’ mental (心理的) health since scientists have found bullies are nearly twice as likely to have mental health problems.
I’d like to call on all schools and families to pay more attention to school bullying. I hope all students can have a happy school life.

24、Do the British really get together every afternoon at 4 to sit and drink several cups of tea? Ask any of my German students and they will tell you “YES!” But it’s simply not sure.
We drink over 150 million cups of tea a day in Britain, but there is no special time for it. “Tea” is wildly used as a name for the evening meal. This is more common in Scotland and the north of England but you can hear it all over the country. Usually it is the main meal of the day, eaten between 5 and 7. So, “teatime” refers to the meal and not the drink. In the south, the evening meal is often called dinner, however, dinner in the north is the midday meal. In general:
North: Breakfast—Dinner—Teatime
South: Breakfast—Lunch—Dinner
What about tea breaks? Surely this must be a special time for tea? Wrong again, I’m afraid. Tea breaks are just an opportunity to have a rest from work for around 10 minutes. In this time you can drink whatever you like (which of course includes tea). This is usually with a small snack, like biscuits. The best time for a tea break is around 11 a.m. or around 3 p.m.
But what about tea rooms? Can I drink tea there? Yes! A tea room is the perfect place to go with friends and family to enjoy tea, cakes and sandwiches. This is known as afternoon tea and is usually saved for special occasions(场合)such as birthday party.
Teatime, tea breaks, afternoon tea… how could you possibly get muddle up(混淆)these terms(术语)?

25、阅读下面短文,按照句子结构的语法性和上下文连贯的要求,在空格处填入一个适当的词或使用括号中词语的正确形式填空(每空不多于3个单词)。
Students these days often have a lot of 【1】(worry). Sometimes they have problems with their schoolwork, and sometimes with their friends. 【2】 can they do with them? Some people think the worst thing is to do nothing. Laura Mills, a teenager from Washington, agrees. “In life, there are always problems and worries,” says Laura. “But I think 【3】(communicate) with someone helps a lot. If we don't talk to anyone, I'm sure we'll feel worse.” Sally once lost her wallet, and worried for days. She was afraid to tell her parents 【4】 it. She even walked several miles to school each day 【5】 she didn't have any money. She just kept thinking, “If I tell my parents, they'll be angry!” But at last she talked to her parents and they were 【6】(real) understanding. Her dad said he himself sometimes made mistakes, too. They bought her a new wallet and asked her 【7】(be) more careful. Robert Hunt advises students about common problems. He feels the same way 【8】 Sally. “We should always try to do something with 【9】(problem).” He thinks that you can first find someone to talk to. This person doesn't need to be an expert like him. Students often forget that their parents are always there to help them. In English, we say that talking about a problem with parents or friends is like 【10】(cut) it in half. So next time you meet a problem, do like that. I hope you can get on well with everyone and everything.
