24、Yesterday I went to the nursing home to visit my grandma. She just got out of the hospital recently where she had some serious operations.
When I got there, she was so happy to see me. We hugged, kissed and exchanged greetings. Then I heard a woman crying. It was my grandma's roommate. The curtain was drawn so I could not see her. She started calling out a name that wasn't mine but she was certainly talking to me, begging me to go to her side of the room.
I ignored (忽视) her at first and continued talking with my grandma. Then she started begging and saying, "Please, come to see me!" So I went to see her.
When I drew the curtain back, she looked so old but flashed me the biggest smile ! She opened her arms wide for me to hug her so I bent low and gave her a hug. I sat on her bed and talked with her for a few minutes. She kept calling me by the other name, but I did not correct her. She told me stories as if I had been there when they happened.
Finally I went back to talk with my grandma. Then the woman started crying again, saying, "Please, come back." She finally slept.
I stopped by the nurse's station and the nurse told me that the lady suffers from Alzheimer's (老年痴呆症). I mentioned the name she had called me. The nurse told me it was the lady's daughter's name, Then I understood why she wanted me to go to visit her.

26、He has millions of students from all around the world. They listen to his classes online but never see his face on the screen. Salman Khan, 42, from the US, is the founder of the learning website Khan Academy(可汗学院).
Unlike other online courses that film teachers giving classes, Khan’s video only use his voice and a digital blackboard for waiting. He says he doesn’t want a human face to distract students. Khan also makes his classes as short as 10 to 15 minutes so that students won’t lose interest. They can also earn (获得) points from taking these classes.

27、Have you ever wondered what P.E. classes are like in other countries? In China, P.E. tests are necessary for students to graduate (毕业) from both middle school and high school. To get good grades on the P.E. tests, Chinese students will need to practice running as well as doing sit-ups and pull-ups (引体向上). However, this is not the way that P.E. classes work in US high schools.
In my high school, we are asked to take two terms of P.E. to graduate. We play real sports during P.E. classes, such as basketball and volleyball. There are also some other typical American sports that we often play, such as football and baseball.
I didn’t know the rules of football and baseball when I first came to the US. The teacher let me sit on the sidelines and watch how other students played them in order to let me find out the rules.
We also learn some useful life skills in P.E. classes. Last year, I learned how to do CPR (心肺复苏), which is a life-saving skill. We were also taught how to give first aid to someone who is in danger. These skills are a large part of the final grade for the P.E. class in my high school. Self-defense (自卫) is taught in P.E. class as well. This includes some tae kwon do (跆拳道) and karate (空手道) skills, as well as Chinese kung fu. It is practical.
