一、翻译题 (共1题,共 5分)
  • 1、   As the world is trying hard to fight COVID-19, how do we protect ourselves from the virus? The most important thing is to keep in good health. So do you have good hygiene (卫生) habits? 1. As far as we know, people’s health is closely connected with their hygiene habits in their everyday life. Under the influence of COVID-19, health experts are reminding people to wash their hands properly.

    2. Although some may fail to notice this daily habit, hand washing actually has a long history. More than 2,500 hundred years ago, Chinese people had to wash their hands before taking part in ceremonies (仪式) and follow some strict rules.

In the 19th century, 3. 医生们发现洗手对他们的病人有帮助。The habit quickly became common among doctors and nurses, and later the public.

    4. Also, more attention should be paid to a healthy dining habit. In the West, it is more culturally proper to eat your own meals. However, people in the East are exactly the opposite. For them, eating a meal alone is very impolite during social meetings. Instead of eating alone, they like eating common dishes. 5. 这是一种表达他们友好和温暖的常见方式。Some even share their utensils (餐具), which is risky. According to the WHO, saliva (唾液) is quite easy to spread illnesses through air.

Developing good hygiene habits can help people stay healthy. So why not start by washing your hands often and eating alone?

  • 25、When I arrived, it was early morning and it was raining. I looked to the east — the sky was becoming grey. I got out of the car, went through a gate and walked along a dark path. There was nothing to see, but I knew it was there.

After about a mile, a stranger appeared beside the path. "Am I going the right way?" I asked. He knew where I was going. "Yes," he replied, "you'll get there in five minutes," Finally, I came to some rocks and stopped. I looked over them, but it was silent and there was no sign of it.

Suddenly, the rain stopped and the clouds cleared. The sun rose behind me and shone on the rocks. Far below me, the ground fell away and down to a river. I was looking across one of the wonders of the natural world — the Grand Canyon.

I looked down to the Colorado River, a silver stream nearly one mile below me. If you put the two tallest buildings in the world on top of each other at the bottom of the canyon, they still would not reach the top. Then I looked across to the other side of the canyon. It was about fifteen miles away, maybe more. Finally, I looked to my left and to my right, and on both sides the canyon went far away for more than 200 miles. The Grand Canyon was not just big. • 26、Journalism(新闻业) is a fast-paced industry, requiring reporters to get the facts about newsworthy events and to write about them before a deadline(截止日期). It takes some skills to do this. At the same time, news reporters must follow strict requirements and have a deep understanding of news writing.

Know what you’re going to write about. Newsworthy events can happen anytime and anywhere. So reporters need to develop a good nose for news.

Get all the facts and look at the details. Be sure to look at a story from different angle(角度) . Even if you are covering a popular story or topic that others are writing about, look for an angle that will make this one yours.

Check facts to avoid mistakes. Sources may also make mistakes and some may even deceive you. It’s wise to get in touch with other sources. In a shooting event, for example, getting the facts from the police and from both the criminal and victim isn’t enough. You should also interview other witnesses who may give more information about the event. Interviewing people and getting a firsthand source on your topic can be valuable.

Start writing the news. When it comes to the body of the article, the main information should be given in the leading statement. It is often a short one, including the basics of what happened, where and when it took place, who was involved and why it’s newsworthy. These details are the main point that lets the reader know. Other information about the story follows. This form allows editors to cut off the last paragraphs if there’re space limits.

Check your article for mistakes. If time allows, leave the article for a moment and then read through it again with a fresh eye. Newspaper publications usually have someone check for mistakes but keep in mind that you’re the first line of defense(防护) . Grammar mistakes are embarrassing(令人尴尬的) , and some mistakes may result in a lawsuit(诉讼) .

【1】What can we learn about journalism from the first paragraph?

    A.It is developing fast.

    A.By choosing a proper topic.

B.By checking it for grammar mistakes.

C.By filling it with enough details.
