24、Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was America’s first feature-length(长篇) cartoon. It was first put on in 1937. The year turned out to be a historical moment in the history of American movies.
Before 1937, short cartoons took up most of American movie market. Short subjects, even successful ones like Three Little Pigs, however, didn’t bring in much money. In 1934, Walt Disney had the idea that he would make the Grimm brothers’ well-known story Snow White into a feature-length cartoon. When he first talked about his plans to his colleagues, although they thought highly of Disney’s idea, they were nervous that the movie goers could not sit through a feature-length cartoon. Even his wife , Lillian, tried to discourage him from continuing the cartoon. But Disney believed in his idea. He spent hours telling them about the story, acting out each part. His performance was so powerful that he finally had everyone believing in it.
In 1938, the movie became a box-office success, making more money than any other one at that time. In 1939, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs won Disney an Oscar for having been loved by millions and pioneered a great new entertainment field. 25、 Did you know that about 55% of communication is unspoken, so in fact, our bodies are actually saying more than our words. I find that the key to a successful conversation in any language is to speak to people not only in their spoken language but also with the body language they know best.
Britain, along with much of Northern Europe, has a non—touch culture, so personal space is very important. In a formal(正式的) situation, we would usually greet each other with a handshake. Informally, but not so often, my British friends and I would greet with a hug. Hardly ever would we greet with a kiss on the cheek, let alone a hug and two kisses on the cheek!
Here in the south of Italy, and in many different parts of the world, both men and women greet with two kisses on the cheek, use a lot of hand signs and often touch each other. In other words, little personal space is left between people when communicating.
At university, I have learnt to successfully communicate in spoken Italian. And since I moved to live with the local people, I have also started to pick up their body language. Sometimes, I find myself not knowing what hand signs to use when expressing myself. However, what I know for sure is that I would miss the opportunity to fully put myself in the Italian culture if I keep my personal space unbroken.
Here are 5 body language tips in Italy:
● Use different signs. head, arms and hands.
● Use facial expressions. Always smile at people! It is said that smiling is the most powerful unspoken way to communicate friendliness.
● Use eye contact, because "the eyes are the window to the soul."
● Don't worry about personal space. Italians are a people who like to use the sense of touch, so moving away or keeping your distance may be considered as being unfriendly.
● Touch. When meeting and leaving, always shake hands.

26、A small cloud moves slowly through the air in a hospital operating room (手术室). In the room a patient with cancer (癌症), lies on a table. The cloud is all around the patient (肺). The cloud is not smoke. It is made of millions of nano-robots (纳米机器人). These tiny robots move from cell (细胞), killing the cancer.
Fighting cancer with nano-robots is only an idea today, but scientists say that it could be possible in the future. Using nano-robots for good purposes such as fighting the illness or repairing the environment may be the way to many of today’s problems.
However, nano-robots could be a dangerous risk as well. Because nano-robots are so tiny, they will have to work in large teams of many thousands to many millions. For this reason (被编程) to build themselves. Scientists will not have the ability to build millions of nano-robots one by one.
This ability to re-produce is making some scientists worried. What will happen if something goes wrong in the programming? Quite a lot of crazy nano-robots would be far worse than any illness. Some people think that if they get out of control, nano-robots could make the Earth gone.

27、Sometimes, people are not clear about what kind of food is healthy, and what kind of food may do harm to our health. The USDA has prepared a food guide to help people learn about which kind of food is the healthiest to eat. The food guide describes six main food groups: meat (like fish and chicken), dairy (like milk and cheese), grains (like bread and rice) , fruit, and vegetables. The last group is fats and sweets. The USDA also suggests how much of each food group is healthy to eat daily. Though this guide was prepared by the US government, it is very useful for people all over the world.
As a result of years of study, we know that too much animal fat is bad for our health. For example, Americans eat a lot of meat and only a small amount of grains, fruit and vegetables. Because of the way they eat, they have a high rate (率) of cancer and heart disease. In Japan, people eat large amounts of grains and very little meat. The Japanese also have a very low rate of cancer and heart disease. The Japanese live longer than anyone else in the world. However, when Japanese people move to the US, the rate of heart disease and cancer goes up as their eating habit changes. And as hamburgers, ice creams and other high-fat foods become popular in Japan, the rate of heart disease and cancer is going up there as well. People are also eating more meat and dairy food in other countries, in which the disease rate is going up along with the change of the way people eat. Doctors everywhere suggest people eat more grains, fruit and vegetables and less meat and dairy food.
Eating healthily is important for children as well as their parents. When parents have poor eating habits, their children usually do, too. After all, children eat ‘ the same way as their parents. When parents eat healthy food, the children will learn to enjoy it, too. Then they will develop good eating habits. Doctors suggest parents give their children healthier food such as fruit, vegetables and juice.
Everyone wants to live a long, healthy life. We know that the food we eat affects us in different ways. For example, doctors believe that fruit and vegetables can really protect people from many different diseases. On the other hand, animal fat can cause diseases. We can change our eating habits now and enjoy many years of healthy living.
