22、Danny Smith worked for a celebrated firm and he had an affectionate family. Danny’s parents regarded themselves to be the luckiest, to be blessed with such an amazing child. But on the other hand, Danny was not happy with himself, since he thought himself to be an ugly, unconfident and unattractive person.
One evening, while returning home from work, he, along with many people, was waiting for the bus. On arrival of the bus, Danny somehow made his way into the bus and managed to find a seat.
After sitting, he looked around the bus and noticed a handsome and charming man sitting opposite him. On looking towards the man, Danny became discouraged once again regarding his looks and personality. All types of bad thoughts started coming in his mind that he was not worth this beautiful world. He thought that lucky man, with such a beautiful and attractive face, must always be the center of attraction.
Danny became jealous of that man and could not bear him in front of him. So he changed his seat to avoid him. On the way all the negative feelings kept coming to his mind, imagining how his life would have been only if he were more handsome and good looking.
Finally on reaching the destination he came out of the bus. As he was walking, a person suddenly pushed Danny from back. Danny angrily turned around and what he saw brought tears in Danny’s eyes.
The same “fortunate” man he had been envying all his way had difficulty in walking, since his one leg was shorter than the other. The “fortunate,’ man apologized to Danny, but Danny couldn’t say a word and walked away with tears in his eyes and guilt in his heart.
While walking, he realized that we must be satisfied with what we are and even the basic qualities that we have might be a dream to someone else. So we should be grateful for what we possess.

23、It’s not always easy to decide on a college to apply to or attend. By following the steps below, you can choose the right college and feel good about your decision.
Make a College List. Early in the process, sit down with your parents or someone you trust, such as your teacher, to develop a list of colleges that interest you. 【1】 You’ll want to consider a variety of experiences and outcomes before making a final decision. Ideally, this list should include 10-15 colleges.
Rank Your Wants and Needs. 【2】 For instance, you may want a Big 10 experience with a large student body and plenty of campus activities.
Visit College Campuses. The Internet remains an incredible resource for researching colleges and universities, learning about degree programs, and getting to know faculty and staff. Still, looking at a school’s website does not provide the same insight as visiting the campus in person. 【3】
Compare Financial Aid Offers. After applying to the colleges on your shortlist, you must wait for acceptance letters and financial aid award letters to arrive. 【4】 By evaluating financial aid award letters and comparing annual costs, you can get a clearer sense of your true out-of-pocket costs.
【5】 After completing the steps above, it’s time to sit down with a trusted advisor to weigh and see which one best meets your criteria. Gathering enough information about your target schools can better prepare you to choose your college and find an institution that’s the best fit for you.
A.Consider whether you want to live in a rural area.
B.Weigh the advantages and disadvantages of each college.
C.This is also unfair to other students who may be on waitlists.
D.Knowing what you need can help cut the number of your schools.
E.This list can include public and private schools, both local and out of state.

G.By exploring college campuses, you and your family can get a better feel for the decision.
