二、阅读理解 (共4题,共 20分)
  • 26、   While some extreme diets may suggest otherwise, we all need a balance of protein, fat, carbohydrates, fiber, vitamins, and minerals in our diets to keep a healthy body. You don’t need to remove certain kinds of foods from your diet, but rather select the healthiest ones.

Protein: protein gives us the energy to get up and go — and keep going — while also supporting mood and cognitive (认知) function. Over protein can be bad to people with kidney disease, but the latest research suggests that many of us need more high-quality protein, especially as we age. That doesn’t mean you have to eat more animal products — many plant-based sources of protein each day can ensure your body gets all the necessary protein it needs.

Fat: not all fat is the same. While bad fat can destroy your diet and increase the possibility of certain diseases, good fat protects your brain and heart. In fact, healthy fat — such as omega-3s —is necessary to your physical and emotional health. Understanding how to include more healthy fat in your diet can help improve your mood and your well-beings.

Fiber: eating foods high in dietary fiber (grain, fruit, vegetables, nuts, and beans) can help you stay regular and lower the possibility of heart disease, strokes, and diabetes. It can also improve your skin and even help you to lose weight. Depending on your age and gender, experts suggest you eat at least 21 to 38 grams of fiber each day.

Calcium(钙): your body uses calcium to build healthy bones and teeth, keep them strong, send messages through the nervous system, and control the heart’s rhythm. Not getting enough calcium in your diet can also lead to anxiety, depression, and sleep difficulties. Whatever your age or gender, it’s necessary to include calcium-rich foods in your diet.

【1】What can we know about protein from the second paragraph?

A.We should have less protein when we get older.

B.We should have as much protein as possible.

    C.Animal products provide more protein.

    D.Protein can improve a person’s mood.

【2】Which is one benefit of foods high in fiber?

    A.They provide more energy.

    B.They are good for eyesight.

    C.They help improve the skin.

    D.They help build healthy teeth.

【3】What’s the effect of shortage of calcium?

    A.People may become older easily.

B.People may have trouble with sleep.

C.People may have the risk of kidney disease.

D.People may gain weight quickly in a short time.

  • 27、In July 1984, the famous author and runner Jim Fixx died of a heart attack while running. One lesson from his death: just because you run does not mean you are safe from heart problems.

Thirty-five years later, Boston Marathon race director Dave McGillivray is repeating that message. “Being fit and being healthy aren’t the same things,” he says.

McGillivray, a lifelong runner, should know. Six months ago, he had heart surgery (手术) after having heart pain and shortness of breath while running.

McGillivray’s family had a long history of heart problems. “I honestly thought that through exercise, proper medicine, good sleep and the right diet, I’d be fine,” he says. “But that’s not true.”

Exercise such as running, walking, cycling and swimming is known to make many health problems become better. But new research is questioning the value of “extreme exercise.”

In a study, researchers in Spain found that full marathons (马拉松) might hurt the heart.

“Running is a good activity, but the act of running doesn’t make you too strong to field. People who have a family history of heart problems should talk with their doctor before running a marathon, especially, men who are older than 40,” Dr. Kevin Harris, a cardiologist, says.

McGilivray says his doctor allowed him to race in the Boston Marathon. He has joined in it every year for 47 years. “My new experience is:” he says, “If you feel something, do something. You might not get a second chance.”

【1】Jim Fixx was also a/an ________ except running a marathon.

    A.doctor

    B.writer

    C.researcher

    D.scientist

【2】What happened to McGillivray while running?

    A.He had heart surgery.

B.He didn’t know the death of Jim Fix.

    C.He met a famous director.

D.He had heart pain and shortness of breath.

【3】The writer wrote the passage by ________.

    A.giving examples

五、书面表达 (共1题,共 5分)
  • 32、阅读下面材料, 根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段, 使之构成一个完整的故事。

Holding a lot of magazines in hand, Jordan stopped in front of a house where people seldom went. The house was very old and shabby and the owner hardly ever came out. When he did come out, he would not say hello to his neighbors or passers-by but simply just glare at them.

Jordan knocked on the door and waited, sweating from fear of the old man. His parents told him to stay away from the house, and a lot of other neighborhood children were told the same thing from their parents.

Dust found the boy standing in front of the door and hesitating about what to do. As he was ready to walk away, the door slowly opened. “What do you want?” the old man said impatiently. Jordan was very afraid but he had a quota(份额) to meet for school with selling the magazines. So he gathered up his courage and said “Uh, sir, I am selling these magazines and uh, I was wondering if you would like to buy one from me.”

The old man just stared at the boy without a word.

Jordan could see inside the old man’s house and saw that he had dog figurines(小雕像) on the fireplace mantle(壁炉的外枢). “Do you collect dogs?” Jordan asked. “Yes, I have many collections in my house. They are my family here and they are all I have.” Jordan then felt sorry for the man, as it seemed that he was a very lonely soul.

“Well, I do have a magazine here for collectors. It is perfect for you. I also have one about dogs since you like dogs so much.” The old man was ready to close the door on the boy and said, “No, boy. I don’t need any magazines of any kind, now goodbye.”

Jordan was sad that he was not going to make his quota with the sale. He was also sad for the old man being so alone in the house that he owned. The boy went home and then had an idea. He had a little dog figurine that he got some years ago from an aunt. The figurine did not mean nearly as much to him since he had a real live dog and a large family.

    1. 所续写短文的词数应为150词左右:
