  • 21、Lifelong learning is good for you

It is impossible for everyone to have access to additional formal education. Fortunately, many educational resources have made it easier for people to develop a habit of lifelong learning.【1】The following points are reasons why you should stick to lifelong learning.

【2】In 2015 some researchers found people with a bachelor's degree can earn much more than those just with a high school degree. In 2014 a report said that 50% of jobs would become unnecessary by 2025 due to technological development. New technology changes the nature of work and we need continuous learning and personal growth to adapt ourselves to the changes. Open-mindedness and curiosity are beneficial to your career. People who enjoy learning are more active at work than those who don't. Now think of the most admirable colleagues you know. Do they tend to be knowledgeable about almost any topic of interest? Do they make insightful speeches on the topics they know best?【3】Those you admire most are those who seem most devoted to learning and personal growth.

Our ability to learn is a keystone of human motivation. Have you ever sat in a quiet place and finished a great novel? Do you remember the feeling of accomplishment when you solve a challenging task? Have you managed to conduct difficult experiments or create something new? Education may not always have influence on wealth, health or career.【4】.

There are many reasons why we should continue learning. Lifelong learning isn't just an economic necessity but a physical, emotional, and social one.【5】Once you catch them, you will get one of the most rewarding things in your life.

A.We live in an age full of opportunities for learning.

    B.Educational input determines your competitiveness.

C.Educational level influences your work performance.

D.Do they seem open-minded and intellectually energetic?

E.Catch the chance of lifelong learning, and you'll be successful.

F.For example, books, online courses, Moocs and so on are available.

G.But it would obviously contribute to the special qualities and uniqueness of each one.

  • 22、Four-year-old Cleo Smith has been found alive 18 days after she went missing in northwest Australia, and her mother, Ellie Smith, took to Instagram to celebrate the news. “Our family is a whole again,” Smith wrote Wednesday, alongside a smiling picture of her young daughter, who disappeared from her tent on a camping trip almost three weeks earlier.

Police found the little girl at a locked home in the small town of Carnarvon, western Australia, just after midnight Wednesday local time. A police video caught the moment an officer picked up the child and asked her, “What's your name?” The girl replied, “My name is Cleo.”

“When she said 'My name is Cleo', I don't think there was a dry eye in the house,” Deputy Police Commissioner Col Blanch told 6PR radio. “I have seen seasoned detectives openly crying with relief. I am speechless, which is very rare. This is something we all hoped in our hearts, and it has come true.”

The 4-year-old's disappearance caused a massive police search that initially covered several square kilometers around the remote campsite at Quobba Blowholes, around 950 kilometers (590 miles) north of Perth, and later extended nationwide as alerts were issued for sightings of the girl.

Less than a week into the search, the western Australia government offered a reward of 1 million Australian dollars ($750, 000) for information leading to Cleo's discovery. • 24、Caffeine is not just for mornings anymore. This simple yet effective ingredient (成分) is gaining attention in the beauty world, thanks to its popularity on TikTok and celebrity endorsers (代言人) who say caffeine-infused skin care products are a quick, affordable way to give your face a little pick-me up.

“When used in skin care, caffeine reduces blood flow to the skin and makes it look brighter and tighter,” says Dr. Hsu, a well-known researcher in skin care. “It’s often seen as an anti-aging or wrinkle-smoothing ingredient in face care eye care, and even body care.”

The key to making skin care products work is proper formulation. In particular, when the right amount of caffeine is used it can be an effective ingredient to freshen up your skin. remove dark under-eye circles.

Several studies, like one published in the International Journal of Cosmetic Science, show that caffeine molecules are small enough to pass through the top layers of your skin, so it can really dig in and do its job inside your skin, explains Dr. Hsu.

But it’s worth noting that just because a product claims it contains caffeine. “It doesn’t mean it will automatically give you the benefits you’re looking for,” he says.

“Caffeine primarily works through circulation, so it’s fast acting: protective against oxidative stress (氧化应激) for the skin.” says Ife Rodney. MD, a board-certified dermatologist and founder of Eternal Dermatology and Aesthetics in Fulton, Maryland.

“Caffeine may also help protect against photodamage. like fine lines and wrinkles after sun exposure. Studies show caffeine helps when it’s applied after exposure to UVA and UVB (中波与长波紫外光) rays,” Dr. Rodney says.

“The main downside is that the skin benefits of caffeine works fast and goes fast, similar to drinking a cup of coffee.” says Rodney. “Caffeine is a temporary solution and will not cure wrinkles or under-eye bags.” she says.
