24、 My interest in cooking started when I was 11, partly thanks to my mother. She didn't really like cooking and when she did cook, I didn't like her food. Once I was watching something about cooking on TV and I thought I could do this so I went to the bookstore and looked for the biggest cookbook I could find.
During a year, I had produced most of its recipes(食谱) and was ready for a bigger challenge. I wanted to create my own dishes and I started cooking for more people than just my family. To my joy, my parents allowed me to build a test kitchen. I did much cooking to test my dishes in it and my skill improved quickly. Later, my Mum and I set up a dinner club that organized monthly events inside my home. Now as a teen chef(主厨), I have also cooked in top-class restaurants around the country. I am not doing it for the money, but because I love cooking.

25、 About 10 years ago, I started a job as a trainer. In one of my first classes, the head trainer told us a very encouraging story.
He began by drawing a man standing in the middle of a circle. To make it more interesting, he drew things like a house, a car, and a few friends inside the circle.
He asked the question, “Can anyone tell me what this is?” In a long silence, one guy decided to throw out, “The world?” The trainer said, “That's close. Actually, this is your Comfort Zone. Inside your circle, you have all the things that are important to you. Your home, your family, your friends and your job. People feel that inside this circle they are safe from any danger.”
“Can anyone tell me what happens when you step out of this circle?” A strong silence came over the room. The same guy finally started, “You are afraid.” Another guy said, “You make mistakes.” The silence continued and the trainer smiled and said, “When you make mistakes, what can the result be?” The first guy shouted, “You learn something.”
“Actually, you are learning.” The trainer turned to the board and drew an arrow(箭头) pointing from the man to the outside of the circle. He continued to say, “When you leave your Comfort Zone, you put yourself out there, in front of the world to be in situations that you are not comfortable with. However, most students don’t seem to like online classes. According to a recent survey, only 33 percent of students would take such classes. Over 1,500 students from 10 cities took the survey.

Well done, Andy, on your hard work this term. You are always active in speaking activities, and this is great. I always enjoy reading your writing too, for you always have very good ideas. I can see from your marks that reading is not a problem for you.
Sometimes you still make small grammar mistakes, and I think you can improve your vocabulary. I advise you to review the language points we studied this term. There is language practice in your online workbook.
The area you need to work on the most is listening. You need more practice at home. Listen to English programs on the radio as much as possible. I can give you a list of things to listen to.
I’ve enjoyed working with you. Have a nice holiday and good luck for next term!
