1、 As the world is trying hard to fight COVID-19, how do we protect ourselves from the virus? The most important thing is to keep in good health. So do you have good hygiene (卫生) habits? 1. As far as we know, people’s health is closely connected with their hygiene habits in their everyday life. Under the influence of COVID-19, health experts are reminding people to wash their hands properly.
2. Although some may fail to notice this daily habit, hand washing actually has a long history. More than 2,500 hundred years ago, Chinese people had to wash their hands before taking part in ceremonies (仪式) and follow some strict rules.
In the 19th century, 3. 医生们发现洗手对他们的病人有帮助。The habit quickly became common among doctors and nurses, and later the public.
4. Also, more attention should be paid to a healthy dining habit. In the West, it is more culturally proper to eat your own meals. However, people in the East are exactly the opposite. For them, eating a meal alone is very impolite during social meetings. Instead of eating alone, they like eating common dishes. 5. 这是一种表达他们友好和温暖的常见方式。Some even share their utensils (餐具), which is risky. According to the WHO, saliva (唾液) is quite easy to spread illnesses through air.
Developing good hygiene habits can help people stay healthy. So why not start by washing your hands often and eating alone?

24、The Boston Marathon(马拉松)is one of the world’s oldest and most famous races. It has a 125-year history. Nearly half the players who take part in the 26.2-mile race are women. But for most of the time in the past, only men were allowed to enter the race.
A woman named Gibb helped change that in 1966. That year she took part in the Boston Marathon and finished faster than most of the men.
Gibb first saw and got to know the Boston Marathon in 1964. And she wanted to run the race herself. For nearly two years, Gibb trained hard to prepare for the race. But when she sent in an application(申请) for the 1966 race, it was refused.
At the time, the longest official (官方的) races for women were only 1.5 miles. Many people didn’t think women were able to run longer than that. But the 23-year-old Gibb refused to give up her dream. She came up with a plan to run the race anyway. On 19th April, she showed up at the marathon. She wore her brother’s shorts and a shirt to disguise that she was a woman.
Gibb hid near the starting line. When the race began, she jumped into the crowd. Shortly into the race, Gibb took off her shirt. To her surprise, the crowd cheered when they realised she was a woman. Gibb finished the race in 3 hours and 21 minutes —faster than two thirds of the men.

David Attenborough is a well-known English broadcaster and natural historian. He has made over 40 documentaries over the last 67 years. At the age of 93, he made his most recent documentary—A Life on Our Planet (《地球的一段生命旅》). It depicts (描绘) everything he has seen and experienced in his life.

But the documentary doesn't end there. Attenborough still gives people hope.
He says there are ways for us to restore the natural balance. From small habit changes to large-scale government regulations(规定), there are lots of things we can do to help our planet become wild again.
