  • 21、Calvin Gillian didn’t believe that Norway was the place for an adventurous (惊险的) holiday. However, his brother and some friends told him to go there and he enjoyed it.

“I’m an extreme sports (极限运动) lover. I have traveled to many different countries, but I didn’t expect Norway to be a good place for an adventurous holiday. “I also visited the Holmenkollen Ski Jump in Oslo. It was fantastic to look from the top of the ski jump (滑雪跳台) and the ski museum was very interesting. I wanted to try a jump but unluckily, it didn’t open when I visited. Anyway, I was very tired and needed a break, so I went back to my hotel and got some sleep.

  • 23、   “If you want to see a thing well, reach out and touch it!”

That may seem a strange thing to say. But touching things can help you to see them better. Your eyes can tell you that a glass ball is round. But by holding it in your hands, you can feel how smooth and cool the ball is. You can feel how heavy the glass is. When you feel all these about the ball, you really see it. With your skin, you can feel better. For example, your fingers can tell the difference between two coins in your pocket. You can feel a little drop of water on the back of your hand, too. You can even feel sounds against your skin. Have you ever wanted to know why some people like very loud music? They must like to feel the sounds of music.

All children soon learn what “Don’t touch!” means. They hear it often. Yet most of us keep on touching things as we grow up. In shops, we touch things we might buy: food, clothes. To see something well, we have to touch it. The bottoms of our feet can feel things, too. You know this when you walk on warm sand, cool grass or a hard floor. All feel different under your feet.

There are ways of learning to see well by feeling. One way is to close your eyes and try to feel everything that is touching your skin. Feel the shoes on your feet, the clothes on your body, the air on your skin. At first, it is not easy to feel these things. You are too used to them!

Most museums are just for looking. But today some museums have some things to touch. Their signs say, “Do touch!” There you can feel everything on show.

If you want to see better, reach out and touch. Then you will really see!

    1By touching things __________.

A.you will have a strange feeling B.you will learn how to reach out your hand

C.you can learn more about them D.you can tell what colors they really are

2Which of the following can be the best title of the story?

A.Touching by Feeling B.To See Better — Feel

C.To See or to Feel D.Ways of Feeling

3Which of the following parts can tell you the difference between two coins in your pocket?

    A.Your fingers. B.Your eyes. C.Your skin. D.Your back.

    4What can’t your skin feel?

    A.Sounds. B.Coins. C.Water. D.Darkness.

5Which of the following is NOT true?

A.Touching is helping us to see better.

B.Our skins may help us enjoy music.

C.Visitors can’t feel the things on show in any museums.

D.People don’t have to learn to feel.

  • 24、   You experience and create all kinds of different energies that decide how you feel and what you do in your day. The things you say, think or do all produce energy that influences (影响) you and the people around you. If you work on creating more positive energy (正能量),you'll see improvements in your life and you'll touch more lives than you thought.

Energy comes in different forms, but all lead to some kind of reaction (反应) within us .Often, when I wake up I open the curtains(窗帘) to let the sunshine into the room. This is a great way to become energized in the morning. If it's raining, instead of letting it trouble me, I will find the good in it. I will be positive about the rain and look for the beauty in it. Whatever the weather, I fully enjoy the moment. So everything is beautiful energy.

The reason why we should focus on positive energy is that it is contagious(有感染力的).When you often take in the positive energy from people around you, it will be seen in the outer world.

My good friend Alex is perhaps the best example of this. He always goes to school with a bright smile on his face. He loves being close to nature and fully understands the beauty around him. He confidently keeps working towards his goal without worrying about whether he will succeed or not. I couldn't begin to tell you how many times people have told me stories about Alex making their day, or making them smile or simply making them feel good. Everyone loves being around him and they feed off his energy.

Some people think that positive energy is not easy to have, however, it's something we create in our day-to-day activities. If music is the easiest way for you to get energy, you can close your eyes to fully enjoy it. If being in nature is something that energizes you, try spending a little more time outdoors. When you create positive energy, it influences everything and everyone around you .In this way, we play a much larger part in the bigger picture than we realize.

1What can we learn from the passage?

A.Positive energy depends on good weather.

B.Music is the easiest way to get positive energy

C.The creation of positive energy helps make your life better.

D.People cant get positive energy through day-to-day activities.

2The example of Alex in the passage is to show___________.

A.everyone needs a good friend like Alex

B.some find it difficult to enjoy the moment

C.people with positive energy can influence others

D.a person can make many friends by sharing positive energy

3Which of the following would be the best title for the passage?

A.Living a Long Life with Positive Energy

B.Creating Positive Energy for Positive Change

C.The Challenge of Making Positive Changes in Life

D.Different Kinds of Energy for Different Kinds of People
