四、阅读理解 (共4题,共 20分)
  • 24、   When you have a different opinion with your friend, what should you do? One of the ways is to talk to your friend and tell him or her how you’re feeling. It’s always important to share your feelings with your friend.

Of course, sometimes friends do drift apart. As we grow older, our interests change and sometimes this means that a friendship may not be as close as it once was. This also means that you , too, may find a different group of friends to spend time with.

Then what should you do to keep friends? One helpful thing is to be sure you let others know you like them. Smile, talk to them, listen with interest and praise them for the things you like about them. People naturally like to make friends with the people who understand and enjoy them.

It’s also important to remember that you should always be yourself. Sometimes when you focus on “keeping friends”, you might begin to do things or act in some ways that aren’t normally part of your personality. Moreover, if your friend is unfriendly to you, that doesn’t mean you should become hurtful to other people. If keeping a friendship means you have to become someone who you aren’t, that friendship isn’t worth keeping.

1When you have a different opinion with your friends, you should ________.

A.go to your parents for help B.tell how you’re feeling to them

C.keep away from them for days D.keep quiet and have a good rest

2People usually like to make friends with people who________.

A.change our interest B.find a different group of friends

C.smile and laugh at them D.understand and enjoy them

3Which of the following sentences is right?

A.Friends should have the same persona B.We should change ourselves to make more ’friends

C.We should often buy presents fr our fiends. D.People shouldn’t lose themselves to keep friendship.

  • 25、Now, it may be difficult to predict the future, but many people believe that we will live on Mars by the year 2100. Our own planet, Earth, is becoming more and more crowded and polluted. Well, what problems will we need to solve before we prepare to go to Mars?

First of all, transport should be much better. At present, humans need to spend months going to Mars by spaceship. However, by 2100, spaceship can travel at half the speed of light. It might take us two or three days to get there!

Secondly, humans need food, water and air to live. Scientists should develop plants that can be grown on Mars. These plants will produce the food, water and air that we need. However, there is no answer for all the problems now.

There is also a problem for us to live on Mars. Mars attracts us much less than the Earth does. This will be dangerous bec ause we could easily jump too high and fly slowly away into space there. We will have to wear special shoes to make ourselves heavier.

In some ways, life on Mars may not be better than that on the earth today. Food will not be the same --- meals will probably be in the form of pills and will not be as delicious as they are today. Also, space travel will probably make many people feel very uncomfortable.

【1】 According to the passage, by the year 2100, we will possibly live________.

    A. on Mars B. on the moon.

    C. in the spaceship. D. in the sea.

    A. A special plant which can produce water, air and food should be needed on Mars

    D. Food on Mars will be much better to eat.

【4】Which looks like life on Mars according to the passage?

    B. We can drink easily and conveniently.

    C. We can walk faster than on the earth.

    D. The scientists want us to do that.

  • 27、   Every year on my birthday, from the time I turned 12, a white gardenia (栀子花) was delivered to my house. No card came with it. Calls to the flowershop were not helpful at all. After a while I stopped trying to discover the sender's name and just delighted in the beautiful white flower in soft pink paper.

But I never stopped imagining who the giver might be.

My mother encouraged these imaginings. She'd ask me if there was someone for whom I had done special kindness. Perhaps it was the old man across the street whose mail I'd delivered during the winter. As a girl, I had more fun imagining that it might be a boy I had run into.

When I was 17, I didn't get good grades and I felt very sad, and then I cried myself to sleep. When I woke up the next morning, there was a message on my mirror, "If we let sadness go, happiness will surely come to you." I thought about those words for a long time. When I finally went to get the glass cleaned, my mother knew everything was all right.

One month before my graduation, my father died, I felt so sad that I became completely uninterested in my upcoming graduation dance, and I didn't care if I had a new dress or not. But my mother, in her own sadness, would not let me miss any of those things. She wanted her children to feel loved and lovable. In truth, my mother wanted her children to see themselves much like the gardenia — lovely, strong and perfect with perhaps a bit of mystery.

My mother died ten days after I was married. I was 26. That was the year the gardenia stopped coming.

1From the age of ________, the writer began to receive a gardenia every year on her birthday.

    A.17 B.12 C.26 D.10

2What can we infer (推断) from the underlined sentence in Paragraph 3?

A.Mother was clever. B.I was still sad. C.The glass was dirty. D.Mother really understood me.

3The writer lost interest in activities before leaving high school because ________.

A.no flowers were sent to her B.a boy broke her heart

C.her father died D.there was no beauty in her life

4In fact it was ________ who sent the flowers.

    A.the writer's father B.the writer's mother C.a boy classmate D.one of the neighbors

5The passage mainly talks about ________.

    A.mother's love B.the writer's bad luck

C.teenagers' problems while growing up D.how to pace difficulties
