  • 24、It was the coldest winter ever. Many animals died because of the biggest enemy for them—the cold weather. The Hedgehogs (刺猬) faced the problem as well. But these clever hedgehogs had an idea. They decided to group together to stay warm. This way they covered and protected themselves, but they forgot one important fact that when they got together to warm each other, their pointy quills (尖尖的刺) started hurting their closest friends!

After a while, they began to bleed, and they could no longer bear the pain. They had no other good ideas, so they decided to distance from the other. However, the cold air came in, and some of them started to get ill and die.

Now they faced a difficult choice—either accept the quills of their friends or disappear from the Earth. Wisely, they decided to go back to being together.

They found out that living with pain (疼痛) from their close friends was a small price to pay for the warmth of being together.

And so, the hedgehogs learned an important lesson: The best relationship is not the one that brings together perfect people, but when each individual (个体) learns to live with the imperfections of others and can admire the other person’s good qualities.
