But you don’t have to be an expert to garden. Anyone can do it. This is why in Britain helping with the gardening is popular with kids.
As a child my dad was the “master” of the garden. He often asked me to help him with the outdoor work. He would mow the lawn as I watered the trees and plants.

23、 In the 13th century, the famous Italian traveler, Marco Polo, traveled a long way to China. During his stay in China, he saw many wonderful things. One of the things he discovered was that the Chinese used paper money. In Western countries, people didn't use paper money until 15th century. However, people in China began to use paper money in the 7th century.
A Chinese man called Cai Lun invented paper almost 2,000 years ago. He put these pieces of paper together and made them in a book.
Now paper comes from trees. We use a lot of paper every day. If we keep on wasting so much paper, there will not be any trees left on the earth. If there are no trees, there will be no paper. So how can we save paper? We can use both of every piece of paper, especially when we are making notes. We can choose drinks in bottles instead of those in paper packets (小包). We can also use handkerchiefs (手帕) and not paper ones. When we go shopping, we can use fewer paper bags. If the shop assistant does give you a paper bag, we can save it and reuse it later.
Everyone can help to save paper. If we all think carefully, we can help protect trees. We should do it now before it is too late.

24、 Star scientists have taken the first ever picture of a black hole, which is from a far away galaxy (银河系). It is 40 billion km across-three million times the size of the Earth-and has been described by scientists as "a monster".
The black hole is 500 million trillion km away and was photographed by a network of eight telescopes (望远镜) across the world.
Details have come out today in Astrophysical Journal Letters. Prof Heino Falcke, says "It is one of the heaviest black holes that we think there is. It is a real monster."
The picture shows a quite bright "ring of fire", as Prof Falcke describes it. The bright halo is caused by superheated gas fling into the hole. The light is brighter than all the billions of other stars in the galaxy-which is why it can be seen so far away from Earth.
The dark circle at the centre is the point at which the gas enters the black holes, which is an object that has such a large gravitational (万有引力的) pull, not even light can escape.
